A convoy of NLC vehicles successfully made its way to Russia, carrying a consignment of Kinnow. Departing from Sargodha, 16 vehicles embarked on a journey spanning 6,000 kilometers. Upon reaching their destination, 14 vehicles arrived in Derbent, while 2 made their way to Grozny.
NLC vehicles traversed through three countries to enter Russia, marking a significant feat in regional trade facilitation.
This accomplishment is further underscored by the launch of the NLC referral service, a crucial development for the agriculture sector.
With approximately 40% of fresh agricultural produce spoiling due to the lack of cold chain infrastructure, the reefer service employed ensured that fruits remained fresh throughout the journey.
A warm reception awaited the trucks upon their arrival in Derbent, where representatives from various organizations, including the International Road Transport Union, Russian Customs officials, Pakistani embassy officials, and members of the business community, gathered to celebrate this achievement.
The efforts of the NLC were met with appreciation by the Russian authorities, who recognized the potential for enhanced mutual trade between Pakistan and Russia.
It's worth mentioning that the NLC has previously facilitated the delivery of bananas, meat, and seafood to neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. This ongoing commitment to regional trade underscores the importance of fostering strong economic ties across borders.
