The Punjab government has decided to reduce the price of ghee by Rs15 per kilogramme across the province. The decision, which comes into effect immediately, aims to alleviate the financial burden on consumers, particularly during the holy month of Ramazan.
The announcement was made by the ghee manufacturers, who confirmed the price reduction during a meeting of the Ramazan Monitoring Committee chaired by Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, the provincial minister for industries.
The committee meeting, attended by provincial ministers Bilal Yasin, Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, along with senior officials, discussed measures to address consumer concerns and ensure an adequate supply of essential commodities during Ramazan.
During the meeting, a delegation from the Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, led by Vice Chairman Muneeb Mannu, expressed appreciation for the decision to reduce ghee prices. The delegation, comprising representatives such as Tariqullah Sufi, Abid Malik, and Waheed Chaudhry, highlighted the importance of providing relief to consumers amid rising inflation.
Industries Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain welcomed the decision of the ghee manufacturers and reiterated the government's commitment to taking all necessary measures to ease the financial burden on the people. He emphasized that providing relief to consumers is a top priority for the government, especially during the holy month of Ramazan.
Furthermore, the provincial ministers assured the delegation of their commitment to addressing the concerns of ghee manufacturers on a priority basis.
The collaborative efforts between the government and industry stakeholders aim to ensure smooth operations and maintain stability in the supply chain of essential commodities across Punjab.
