The Lahore police appear to have made some headway in the investigation of the murder case of Tipu Truckanwala's son Ameer Balaj Tipu, as they claim to have identified the alleged ringleader of the team behind the fatal attack.
The police say that the suspect, identified as Bilawal, fled the country to Dubai via Sialkot Airport a day after the incident.
According to police sources, Bilawal's involvement came to light as his photograph was brought to the forefront during the investigation. It was revealed that he had hired a car on rent to attend the wedding where Ameer Balaj had been shot dead.
The police have also detained both the vehicle and the driver, identified as Nauman.

Further intensifying efforts to bring the culprit to justice, the police have reportedly contacted the Interpol for assistance in apprehending Bilawal, who is believed to be the son of brother-in-law of the main accused, Teefi Butt.
On Thursday, another footage of Ameer Balaj's murder had surfaced wherein another main accused, named Haroon, was identified. On the day of the murder, Haroon monitored the shooting at Ameer Balaj.
Haroon also fired in the air while escaping from the wedding venue amid a stampede. Muzaffar, who opened fire at the victim and was eventually killed by retaliatory firing on the spot, had brought Haroon along with him.
On February 19, Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Arif Ameer, also known as Tipu Truckanwala, was shot dead in an alleged targeted killing in the Chuhng area of Lahore.
