Brazil and Pakistan have inked an agreement for the import of high-quality cattle under the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) spearheaded by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
FONGROW, a key player within the GPI framework, played a pivotal role in facilitating the agreement between the two nations.
The first shipment of these prized cattle from Brazil is set to touch down at Sialkot International Airport today via air cargo. From there, the livestock will be transported to Purewal Model Farm in Punjab.
The agreement encompasses the import of nine distinct breeds of cattle from Brazil, showcasing a blend of local and Brazilian varieties.
In an exclusive interview, Brazilian Ambassador Olyntho Vieira expressed optimism about the burgeoning bilateral trade potential between Brazil and Pakistan.
Highlighting the transformative impact of investment and technology, the ambassador underscored the role they could play in boosting agricultural productivity.
Ambassador Olyntho Vieira also shed light on the historical exchange between the two countries, noting that the Red Sindhi cattle, originally from Pakistan, were introduced to Brazil in the 1950s and have since been meticulously preserved.
