In two separate attacks on military installations in southeast Iran, suspected terrorists killed at least 11 Iranian security officers and injured 10 more, according to official media on Thursday.
According to the reports, Iranian Revolutionary Guard headquarters in Rask and Chabahar, in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan, were the target of overnight attacks by militants from the Jaish al-Adl group.

The official IRNA news agency reports that those killed included two police officers, a security guard, a soldier, and volunteers from the Basij volunteer force.

According to media reports, during gunfights with security forces, at least 16 terrorists were eliminated.
Early on Thursday, Majid Mirahmadi, Iran's deputy interior minister for security and police affairs, stated that the simultaneous terror attacks in Rask and Chabahar were stopped by the presence of law enforcement and security personnel.
He added that the terrorists who attacked the IRGC headquarters in Chabahar were defeated, and they sought refuge in a nearby building. "The terrorists in Rask were completely defeated and surrounded by security forces," he said.
Mirahmadi added that a Chabahar resident was kidnapped by terrorists and that a cautious operation was being conducted to rescue the hostage.

Early in January, Iran had launched attacks in Pakistan targeting what it described as two bases of Baloch group Jaish al-Adl. The Iranian state media reported that the bases were "hit and destroyed" by missiles and drones, without elaborating.
Other media reports claimed that Iran's Revolutionary Guards carried out the "ballistic missile strikes" at multiple locations on Iran-Pakistan border. An open-source intelligence monitor claimed the Revolutionary Guards announced they carried out the attack using ballistic missiles as well as "one-way suicide drones" against the “anti-Iran terrorist groups”.
