The Punjab Education Department has issued a notification detailing revised school timings, set to be implemented after the Eidul Fitr holidays.
According to the official notification, the new schedule will take effect from April 7 and will remain in place until October 15.
Revised school timings
For single-shift schools, classes will commence at 8:00 am and conclude at 1:30 pm, while on Fridays, schools will close at 12:00 pm.
In double-shift institutions, the first shift will start at 8:00 am and end at 12:30 pm, with Friday timings adjusted to conclude at 12:00 pm.
The second shift is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm and continue until 5:30 pm. However, on Fridays, the second shift will start at 2:30 pm.
Eid holidays and academic calendar
The Punjab government has also announced that schools will remain closed for Eidul Fitr from March 28 (Friday) to April 6 (Sunday), with regular academic activities resuming on April 7.
Meanwhile, the results of annual examinations are set to be announced on April 4, providing students and parents with clarity regarding academic performance before the new school year begins.
The Secretary of the School Education Department confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating that the extended break would allow students and teachers to celebrate Eid with their families and return refreshed for the new term.
College holiday schedule
Separately, the Punjab Higher Education Department has issued a notification for Eid holidays in public and private colleges.
According to the statement, all colleges across the province will remain closed from March 28 (Friday) to April 2 (Wednesday).
