The National Selection Committee is in the doldrums regarding the opening plan during the T20 series against New Zealand.
The T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand is starting from April 18 and the selection committee has also announced the final squad for the series.
But who will beat the series opener against the Kiwis?
There are five openers in the Pakistani squad, including captain Babar Azam, wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan, Saeem Ayub, Fakhr Zaman, and Usman Khan.
So far, no decision has been made regarding who among these five players will do the opening batting.
Captain Babar Azam himself is keen to open while Mohammad Rizwan is likely to be slotted at number 4.
The team management is also adamant on Usman Khan as the opener to pair with Babar.
Earlier, it was decided that Saeem Ayub will be given an opportunity as an opener along with Babar Azam until the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup, after which he also opened the series against New Zealand..
