The Islamabad accountability court has accepted the requests for the medical examination of PTI Founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
The decision was made during a hearing presided over by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana at Adiala Jail regarding the 190 million pounds scam reference.
During the hearing, the court accepted the petitions filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, allowing for Bushra Bibi's endoscopy to be conducted at a private hospital in two days. The court directed the local authorities to ensure that the endoscopy is performed under the supervision of Dr Asim Younus, along with a government doctor.
The judge remarked that he was ordering Bushra Bibi's tests to be conducted at a private hospital on humanitarian grounds.
Imran Khan raised concerns about Bushra Bibi's health, stating that she had allegedly been subjected to food poisoning by mixing toilet cleaner in her food. He emphasized that her condition was deteriorating, with daily irritation in her stomach.
The court instructed Imran Khan to refrain from holding press conferences during hearings, emphasizing the sanctity of the court proceedings.
Furthermore, Judge Nasir Javed Rana ordered the immediate removal of additional walls installed in the court. He stated that the hearing would not proceed until the walls were removed and directed the jail administration to take prompt action in this regard.
During the hearing, the defence lawyers submitted a request regarding the problems being faced by the media. The judge called the media representatives to the rostrum and asked them about the difficulties faced in the hearing.
"There are difficulties in listening to court proceedings," the journalists responded.
Later, the hearing was adjourned until April 23.
