Former Law Minister Zahid Hamid stated in the Faizabad sit-in commission report in which it was said that former ISI chief Faiz Hameed and two officers met during the sit-in and asked to resign Law Minister but the then prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was apprised about the offer, he declined.
“On November 26, 2017, two intelligence officers came to my house in Lahore to resign. Faiz Hamid also proposed to resign for a short time. Even if I go on vacation for a long time, TLP will be satisfied,” he told the Commission.
Former IB chief Aftab Sultan explained the reason for the failure of the police operation against TLP and exposed the failure of the police operation in the Faizabad sit-in.
Aftab Sultan claimed in a statement to the commission that in November 2017 police operation failed due to lack of clear orders.
Former IB chief Aftab Sultan further said that the government was advised to talk to TLP so that TLP postpones its march.
“At first, the police managed to disperse the protestors, but when more protestors came from Rawalpindi, the police were forced to retreat,” he told the sit-in commission.
