Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke in the Persian language in front of the President of Iran and his top-level delegation who is in Pakistan on a three-day visit.
Shehbaz Sharif who knew many languages including Arabic and German, spoke Persian couplets during a joint press conference where both Tehran and Islamabad signed the over billion dollar investment.
The premier said: “Chasmein e dil ma shad” (our eyes are freshened up and hearts filled with joy after seeing you).
On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif read the couplet and poetry of Mohammad-Taqi Bahar (10 December 1886 in Mashhad – 22 April 1951 in Tehran) about Pakistan.
Taqi famously wrote ‘Darood Bar Pakistan’.
Shehbaz Sharif invited the Iranian President again and again to Pakistan.
The Iranian delegation expressed their joy over the frequent use of the Persian language by the Prime Minister during the joint press conference.
