The Lahore High Court has granted permission for the children of Farhat Shehzadi alias Farah Gogi to travel abroad, despite ongoing inquiries against their mother.
During the hearing, the government lawyer highlighted that there is currently no property in the name of the children, and investigations are underway against their mother -- a good friend of former prime minister Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi.
However, the court questioned the basis for preventing the children from leaving the country if there are no inquiries against them.
The Lahore High Court declared: "The children are free and independent."
A two-member bench of the high court, headed by Justice Anwaarul Haq Pannu, made the decision to allow the children to travel abroad.
The petitioner argued that there are no inquiries pending against Farah Gogi's children, adding that the fundamental right was snatched by placing the names in the ECL without justification.
