Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi urged on Sunday the national cricket team to embrace an aggressive playing style and modern techniques in T20 internationals following their recent defeat against Ireland.
The call for a tactical overhaul came during a meeting held in Dublin between national team players and Mr Naqvi, where the PCB chief stressed the need for a competitive edge in the T20 format.
Acknowledging the talent and professionalism of the players, Naqvi particularly commended the bowling attack while underlining the significance of impeccable fielding to thwart opponents' chances.
"Defeat against Ireland must serve as a wake-up call for the team," said Mohsin Naqvi.
He reiterated that while strategies can be devised off-field, true performance is gauged on the pitch, urging the players to rise to the occasion and meet the nation's expectations.
Naqvi reminded the players of their pivotal role as ambassadors of Pakistani cricket, highlighting the nation's unwavering passion for the sport and the high hopes pinned on the national team.
Stressing the importance of teamwork, he underscored the collective effort required for achieving success, urging unity and cohesion among the players.
