An Indian father and son have sought Pakistani citizenship after fleeing their home country due to persecution in Narendra Modi's regime.
Muhammad Hasnain, 70, and Muhammad Ishaq, 31, are residents of New Delhi, and they arrived in Karachi on September 13.
They illegally entered Pakistan via Quetta in Balochistan province from Afghanistan after paying an agent Rs30,000. A taxi driver then charged them Rs50,000 to drop them to Karachi.
Hasnain used to publish his own newspaper in Delhi, but four cases were registered against him for raising his voice against atrocities on Muslims.
He told that he left India with his son on a visa to Dubai, then obtained a visa to Afghanistan from there and reached Kabul.
In Karachi, Hasnain and Ishaq appealed to the government of Pakistan to grant them Pakistani citizenship.
They said they were persecuted by the Modi government and had no choice but to flee their home country.
The police have allowed Hasnain and Ishaq to stay in Karachi without any hindrance.
The government has not yet responded to their request for citizenship.
