Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider felicitated on Friday Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani on his son Ali Qasim Gilani's victory in the by-election from NA-148.
According to details, the Punjab governor held a telephonic conversation with Yousuf Raza Gilani. Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, Haider said: "The victory of Qasim Gilani is the sign that the masses are only having confidence in the PPP."
"The masses have been impressed with our friendly policies," he added.
Haider said: "The PPP will continue to serve the masses under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari."
PPP's Ali Kasim Gilani wins NA-148 by-election
Few days back, PPP leader Qasim Gilani emerged victorious in the NA-148 by-election.
The by-election for the National Assembly seat in Multan was held on Sunday, featuring a fierce contest between PPP's Ali Kasim Gilani and Barrister Taimur Altaf Malik, the candidate backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).
According to official and unofficial results from 275 polling stations, Qasim Gilani secured 83,250 votes, while his opponent, Barrister Taimur Altaf Malik, garnered 51,572 votes.
