Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khurram Dastgir urged mobilisation of the National Security Committee (NSC).
Expressing his thoughts on the Samaa TV programme, "Red Line With Talat Hussain", Dastgir said: "Subsequently, there is a need to invite the political parties' parliamentary leaders."
"The format of the committee is not beneficial in terms of decision-making; rather, there is a need for limitation," Dastgir maintained.
Speaking about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Dastgir said: "The KP CM had said that we cannot fight the Taliban; rather, there is a need to hold talks with them. The statement made by the KP chief minister shows that he [CM Gandapur] is kowtowing to the Taliban."
"The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should also be invited to Quetta as we have to hold talks with the party [PTI]," said Dastgir.
He maintained: "PTI founder Imran Khan had not attended the meetings even as the country's prime minister."
"The PTI has not obtained any insights into how to deal with the terrorists," Dastgir lamented.
