With less than two weeks left in commencement of the mega event, the Indian government has not yet released a visa policy for Pakistan cricket team fans and journalists for the ICC World Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to start from October 5 in India and Pakistan cricket team also received its visas just on September 25.
The delay in releasing the visa policy is causing problems for Pakistan cricket fans and journalists who are planning to attend the World Cup in India.
Many of them have already booked their flights and accommodation, but they are now uncertain whether they will be able to obtain a visa in time for the tournament.
According to sources, the Indian Consulate has refused to take passports of journalists for visa despite that they had received accreditation from International Cricket Council (ICC). The same goes for fans.
Further, the courier service dealing with India visa is not receiving the passports for World Cup saying that they have not got the clearance yet.
Sources say that cricket fans and journalists are being asked for unnecessary documents by Indian authorities.
