Pakistan cricket team Head coach Gary Kirsten was furious and called all the players into the dressing room after a crushing defeat by the USA in the opening game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“A game plan was made but no one followed it,” Gary Kirsten told players and the team did not appear to play as ‘one’ on the ground.
“When the USA was batting, you all lost courage in the first half and lost the match from the beginning,” Gary said, adding, “Even if we had won after the Super Over against a small team, it was a point of disrespect.”
Captain Babar Azam blamed the mistake on other players. “Harris did not bowl well, senior players should have looked,” Babar said.
“Babar Azam continued to speak angrily with other teammates,” sources said.
“Do not give me any advice, I understand everything myself,” Babar Azam told his teammates.
Sources claimed Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Rizwan had advised Babar Azam not to give Iftikhar Ahmed an over on the ground.
“Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf, and other players also cried in the dressing room,” source claimed.
