Pakistan national cricket team captain, Babar Azam, has filed a defamation lawsuit against senior anchor Mubasher Luqman.
Sources indicate that the star batsman took this legal step after consulting with his legal team, responding to what he claims are baseless allegations made by the anchor.
The legal notice, sent by Babar Azam, demands compensation of Rs 1 billion from Luqman. His legal team argues that the allegations of match-fixing made by the anchor are unfounded and damaging to his reputation.
Sources close to the situation reveal that the notice also challenges Luqman to substantiate his claims. If he fails to do so, he is expected to pay the hefty damages sought by Azam.
In a recent video circulated on social media, veteran anchor Mubasher Luqman has leveled serious allegations against Pakistan's cricket team captain, Babar Azam. Luqman claimed that Azam received an Audi E-Tron, allegedly presented as a gift from his brother, which was acquired through questionable bookies. Additionally, he accused Azam of owning apartments in Australia and New Zealand, acquired under dubious circumstances.
These are serious allegations on Babar Azam from senior journalist Mubashir Luqman.

Luqman's accusations came on the heels of Pakistan's disappointing performance in the USA, where they suffered a premature exit from the tournament. The team lost to the USA and narrowly defeated Ireland in a low-scoring match in New York.
In his video, which has since gone viral on various social media platforms, Luqman alleged that Babar received expensive gifts in exchange for intentionally losing international matches. He specifically mentioned the Audi E-Tron and the overseas apartments as evidence of these claims.
