The Pakpattan police have initiated a zero-tolerance policy against crimes targeting women and children. Under the leadership of District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Walait, the police force has not only registered eight cases of such egregious offences during the last 10 months, but also apprehended the perpetrators, ensuring their immediate incarceration.

"The police were extremely vigilant, and no efforts were spared to apprehend and prosecute these criminals," he stated in a press briefing. "We are committed to ensuring that Pakpattan becomes a district where women and children can feel safe and secure."

The recent cases registered span across various areas, including Pakpattan, Arifwala, Malka Hans, Kuliana, and other parts of the district. In each of the eight cases, the suspects were apprehended within a short period, reflecting the police force’s operational readiness and commitment to justice.

One case involved an incident in Arifwala, where a man was suspected of assaulting a minor. The police acted swiftly, gathering evidence, and arresting the suspect within hours of the report. Such prompt action not only brings justice to the victims but also serves as a deterrent to potential offenders.

Similarly, in Malka Hans, another perpetrator was swiftly brought to justice after being accused of harassment followed by rape of a minor girl. 

DPO Walait emphasized the importance of community cooperation in these efforts. "The success of our operations is significantly enhanced by the active participation of the community. We encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities or crimes without hesitation, ensuring that we can act promptly to prevent any harm."

In addition to law enforcement actions, the Pakpattan police have also initiated awareness campaigns to educate the public on recognizing and reporting crimes. Workshops and seminars have been conducted in schools and community centers, focusing on empowering women and children with knowledge about their rights and the resources available to them.

The zero-tolerance policy is part of a broader initiative by the district police to reform and strengthen their approach to crime prevention and community engagement. By prioritizing the safety of women and children, the police aim to foster an environment of trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.
