The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced the postponement of its scheduled jalsa in the Tarnool area of Islamabad today.
PTI leader Barrister Gohar said that they were postponing the public gathering, which will now be held after Ashura. He said that the workers were looking forward to the rally, adding that they always relied on the law. He further claimed that suspending the NOC for the Tarnol rally was contempt of court and the order to cancel the gathering unconstitutional.
Gohar said whether it's the commissioner or the deputy commissioner, the NOC, issued after four months, could not be cancelled. He further said the party would
He further declared that whenever Imran Khan announced a hunger strike, they would all support him. "We have not received any invitation for the APC. When the invitation comes, we will deliberate on its agenda," Gohar added.
PTI Secretary General Omer Ayub said the party would also hold rallies in Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad. A protest movement would be announced by the party founder, he added.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain-e-Pakistan has filed a contempt of court petition against the Islamabad administration's suspension of the NOC for today's scheduled rally.
In a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court, the coordinator of the movement stated in the petition that the Islamabad deputy commissioner informed the high court on July 4 that an NOC has been issued. However, the DC issued a letter for the cancellation of the NOC on Friday.

He further argued in the petition that suspending the NOC despite court order was contempt of court, and the court should take action against those who cancelled it. The chief commissioner, deputy commissioner and Islamabad police chief were made parties in the petition.
It should be noted that in view of alleged security concerns, the Islamabad administration has flatly refused to allow the PTI to hold a rally on Saturday. A heavy contingent of police reached Tarnol late at night, removed the stage, and took all other items such as containers, barbed wire and others into custody.
According to the authorities, the permit has been suspended on the recommendation of the law enforcement agencies. Public order and protection of life and property of citizens were the first priority.
