Captain Shubman Gill led India to a 23-run victory over Zimbabwe in the third T20 international held in Harare on Wednesday, giving India a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
According to details, India opted to field a youthful side without several members of their World Cup-winning squad, opted to bat first and set a competitive total of 182 for four in their 20 overs.
Opener Shubman Gill anchored the innings with a superb 66 off 49 balls, while Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed a brisk 49 from 28 balls.
Zimbabwe, after a disastrous start, rallied to 159 for six, thanks to an unbeaten 65 from Dion Myers. The home side initially slumped to 39 for five after seven overs but found hope through a resilient sixth-wicket partnership of 77 between Myers and Clive Madande, who scored 37 from 26 balls.
Indian spinner Washington Sundar was instrumental in sealing the win, taking 3-15 in his four overs, including the crucial wicket of Madande.
Despite the efforts from Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani (2-25) and Sikandar Raza (2-24) to restrict India's scoring, the visitors maintained their edge to secure a comfortable victory.
