Khawar Maneka - the former husband of Bushra Bibi - has initiated legal action in the Iddat Nikah case, presenting two petitions before the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad.
In a session presided over by Judge Afzal Majoka, Khawar Maneka's counsel filed two petitions seeking legal opinion on critical aspects of the case.
One petition requests the formation of a Medical Board to provide expert opinion, while the second petition seeks guidance from the Islamic Ideological Council, Federal Shariat Court, and Islamic scholars.
Judge Afzal Majoka has issued notices to all concerned parties, scheduling the hearing for July 11 to deliberate on the petitions brought forth by Khawar Maneka's legal team.
This development unfolds amidst ongoing legal proceedings concerning Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi's marriage during Eid, for which they were sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. Both parties have filed appeals against the verdict, currently under review.
The High Court has instructed the lower court to resolve the matter by July 12.
