A Rawalpindi court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat in connection with an illegal construction case.
The warrant was issued by Civil Judge Muhammad Mumtaz Hinjra in response to a case filed by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). The judge has directed the police to arrest Marwat and present him in court on July 30.
Sher Afzal Marwat is accused of unauthorized construction on his plot near Thalian Motorway. The Naseerabad police station registered the case in 2019, citing that Marwat had not obtained the necessary permissions for the construction.
The court's decision to issue a non-bailable arrest warrant comes after Marwat's continuous non-appearance in court. His failure to attend previous hearings led to the issuance of this warrant, underscoring the legal repercussions of non-compliance with court orders.
