A nationwide crackdown on electricity theft has resulted in the recovery of 105 billion rupees and the arrest of over 83,000 individuals involved in power theft. This operation is part of the government and military leadership's efforts to revive the national economy and address the electricity crisis.
According to recent data, from June 30 to July 17, relevant authorities recovered more than 1.63 billion rupees from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad. An additional 430 million rupees were collected from Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta.
The authorities remain committed to continuing their operations until the complete eradication of electricity theft across the country. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in stabilizing the national economy and resolving the ongoing power crisis.
