Federal Minister for Investment Board Communications and Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan stressed on Thursday that there will be no compromise on the quality of highway construction.
He also assured that security improvements would enhance travel facilities for tourists and citizens. These statements were made during a high-level meeting at the National Highway Authority (NHA).
The federal minister highlighted the importance of boosting the income of institutions rather than relying solely on government funds. He described the Gilgit-Khunjarab Motorway as a "game changer" for the region.
In a separate meeting with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins, Khan reiterated that the private sector should lead business initiatives, while the government focuses on privatization to bolster the economy.
He stressed that business operations should be handled by the private sector, not the government. The Australian High Commissioner expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
