The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the latest player rankings for Test and T20 formats, showcasing significant changes.
Notably, Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has seen an improvement in the Test rankings but has experienced a decline in the T20 rankings.
According to the updated ICC rankings, England's Joe Root has ascended to the top spot in Test cricket, pushing New Zealand's Kane Williamson to second place.
Babar Azam has climbed one place in the Test rankings, securing the third position, while New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell holds the fourth spot. Steve Smith and Rohit Sharma have both dropped to fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
In the Test bowlers' rankings, India's Ravichandran Ashwin continues to lead, followed by Australia's Josh Hazlewood in second and India's Jasprit Bumrah in third. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains at the pinnacle of the Test all-rounder rankings.

For the T20 format, Australian batsman Travis Head maintains his top position. However, Babar Azam has slipped one place to fifth.
India's Surya Kumar Yadav holds the second spot, followed by England's Phil Salt in third, and India's Yashasvi Jaiswal in fourth. Pakistani batsman Mohammad Rizwan has dropped one place to sixth.
In the T20 all-rounder rankings, Australia's Marcus Stoinis leads the chart, with Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza moving up to second place and Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan to third. Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga has dropped two places, now ranking fourth.
