Azam Siddique, father of Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, replied to a fan on social media who accused the skipper of favouritism in team selection for the World Cup 2023.
Naseem Shah's shoulder injury in the Asia Cup match against India left Pakistan cricket fans disappointed, as he was ruled out of the 15-man squad for World Cup 2023. Hassan Ali was named as his replacement.
Squad: Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice captain), Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Nawaz, Usama Mir, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim.

Siddique replied to the comment, "What do you want, other than friendship in the team? Do you want grouping in the team, or for teammates to take an oath on the Holy Quran?"
Siddique went on to add that the fan should be ashamed, as the team was not selected by Babar Azam but by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
