The government's crackdown on electricity theft has shown substantial results, with 10.893 billion rupees recovered and more than 84,000 individuals arrested across the country. This initiative is part of broader efforts to revive the national economy and address the electricity crisis affecting citizens.
In August alone, relevant authorities recovered over 6.86 billion rupees from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad. An additional 4.13 billion rupees were collected from Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta.
The campaign, supported by both government and military leadership, aims to completely eradicate electricity theft nationwide. Authorities remain committed to continuing their operations until this goal is achieved.
