The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has imposed a lifetime ban on three players and a physio for leaving the country without prior approval.
The players—Murtaza Yaqoob, Ehtesham Aslam, and Abdul Rehman—along with physio Waqas, have been banned following their unauthorized departure to a foreign country. PHF Secretary Rana Mujahid stated that the individuals in question left the country without notifying the federation and subsequently applied for political asylum abroad.
He emphasised that these actions were taken without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the federation. Despite being called back to attend the training camp, the players and physio failed to report back, leading to the federation's decision to impose the lifetime ban.
