Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited the housing construction sites in Tando Muhammad Khan district today, where work is underway under the Sindh People's Housing for Flood-Affectees (SPHF) programme.
He was flanked by Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Shah, along with other relevant officials.
Following the catastrophic floods of 2022, which displaced millions in Sindh, the SPHF programme was launched in November 2022 with the goal of rebuilding 2.1 million homes across the province.
This extensive programme marks a crucial step in restoring normalcy and enhancing the lives of those impacted by the floods.
During his visit, Jaleelullah Khokhar, District Project Officer of the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), provided an update to the Chief Minister on the resilient houses being built with the support of the Government of Sindh.
NRSP is offering technical expertise to ensure the housing meets high standards of resilience and sustainability and is also involved in providing social support through training, awareness-raising, and capacity-building activities to empower local communities.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah praised the progress of the housing programme, recognizing it as a vital part of the broader effort to rehabilitate those affected by the 2022 floods.
