Security forces on Friday successfully eliminated 12 terrorists in an operation in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district after the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location amid intense exchange of fire.
The operation, based on intelligence, was conducted during the night between August 28 and 29, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army.
The security forces acted on secret information to encircle the group of terrorists, known as Khawarij, who were operating in the area. This operation is part of a broader campaign to dismantle the network of Khawarij terrorists and their supporters, who have been a significant threat to the region's stability.
These operations have resulted in major setbacks to Fitna-Al-Khwarij and its affiliates, and so far, 37 terrorists have been sent to hell, while 14 terrorists have suffered serious injuries.
“The IBOs will continue till peace in the area is restored and Khawrij are eliminated, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.
