Pakistan javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem said on Sunday that the hard work and dedication reaped benefits in the Paris Olympics.
Expressing his thoughts Nadeem recounted his determination for the sports, saying, "I used to participate in different sports at the school level. It was back in 2015, when I had started to compete at the national level."
"I had the honor to qualify for the Olympics directly. Despite surgery on both knees and elbows, I continued to work hard."
Giving the piece of advice to the country's youth, Nadeem said: "The youngsters should continue to work hard as the higher power gives the reward of dedication."

Few days back, Noted singer Abrarul Haq lavished on Friday his praise on Javelin star Arshad Nadeem, giving Rs1.5million to the Olympic gold medalist.
Addressing the press conference flanked by Nadeem, the "Assan Jana Mall-o Mall" singer said: "Arshad Nadeem had brought good news for the masses, who are facing a multitude of challenges, including the economic crunch.".
"Arshad Nadeem has waved the national flag after clinching a gold medal for the country, which came after 44 years of waiting," Haq said.
"I had announced to give a small reward [Rs1.5million] to Arshad Nadeem. We have named the Sahara sports after Arshad Nadeem," said the "Dilbaron Ki Basti Mein" singer.
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, Nadeem expressed his gratitude to Haq and his family for getting the reward from the "Bhangra" maestro.
"Those who embrace hard work, devotion, and humbleness reap benefits," he said.
