Karachi is experiencing hot weather today, with clear skies and bright sunshine dominating the city. There may be light to moderate rain in the suburbs, but there is no chance in the city itself at present.
The Met Department has reported that the maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to hover between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature recorded earlier was 27 degrees Celsius.
Sea breezes are blowing at a mild speed of 11 kilometres per hour, providing some relief from the heat. However, despite the soaring temperatures, there is no immediate chance of rain in the city itself, according to the Met Department.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has confirmed that Karachi is unlikely to see rain today, citing a decrease in the intensity of monsoon winds. He explained that while light to moderate rainfall might occur in the suburbs surrounding Karachi, the city will remain dry for the time being.
In other parts of Sindh, light rains have been reported in Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Sanghar, and Larkana, with heavy showers in Tharparkar. However, the rain system has not advanced enough to affect Karachi, and the monsoon winds have lost much of their strength.
Sardar Sarfraz emphasized that, although the rain system did not reach Karachi, there is still a possibility of light showers in the outskirts of the city. However, the chances of rain in Karachi itself remain slim for now.
