In a major anti-drug operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) intercepted a parcel containing 37 kilograms of "ice" (methamphetamine) concealed within women's shoes at a courier office in Lahore.
The parcel, which was bound for Australia, had been booked by a suspect from Rawalpindi.
ANF officials revealed that the contraband was hidden in 20 cartons of shoes. Upon inspection, they discovered that 500 pairs of blisters had absorbed the drug, with 37 grams of ice separated from each blister, amounting to a total recovery of 37 kilograms.
The operation was carried out following a tip-off. Raids are underway to apprehend the accused involved in the smuggling attempt.
