The Lahore High Court has granted bail to Afnan, the main accused in a high-profile car accident case in the Defense area of Lahore.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Shehbaz Rizvi, delivered the reserved verdict on Afnan's bail petition.
During the proceedings, Afnan’s lawyer argued that the allegations against his client were unsubstantiated during the investigation. He highlighted that the geofencing data collected from the incident did not place the included witnesses at the scene, challenging the credibility of their statements.
Furthermore, the defense pointed out that Afnan is a minor, as indicated in the investigation report, and that there is no direct connection between the statements of the witnesses and the charges against him. The lawyer contended that these factors warranted Afnan's release on bail.
After considering the arguments, the Lahore High Court accepted Afnan's bail application, allowing him to be released from custody while the case proceeds.
