Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi Monday challenged the Accountability Court's decision to reject their plea for acquittal in the £190 million reference.
The appeal was filed in the Islamabad High Court through their legal team, including Barrister Salman Safdar and Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry.
The appeal contests the September 9 decision of the Accountability Court, stating that the plea for acquittal was based on merit, but was unjustly denied.
The petition argues that there is no sufficient evidence or material to support a conviction and has requested the High Court to overturn the accountability court's ruling.
The PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have urged the court to acquit them of all charges in the case, stating that the rejection of the acquittal was unfounded.
