Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq on Wednesday fired a fresh broadside at the caretaker government, blaming it for ballooning inflation.
Expressing his thoughts in Lahore, Haq said, ‘’Even now, the poor people in the country will long for the basic amenities like bread and pulses.’’
Speaking about the elections, he stated, ‘’The elections should be held in such a way that it represent the masses in a real context. The masses should be given their right to vote in elections in their true meaning.’’
He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold transparent elections and announce the election date in the country. ‘’The ECP has announced it will hold elections in January, but uncertainty still looms.

Few days back, Haq said on Saturday that the previous governments were responsible for the unrest and ballooning inflation in the country.
Expressing his thoughts in Lahore, Haq was of the view those political parties who had already ruled the country were deceiving the masses. Haq schooled the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He urged the youth to not “fall prey to the fake slogans” of the political opponents, adding that those who plundered the country’s wealth for the decades should be held accountable.
Underscoring the country’s situation, Haq said: “There prevails a culture of plundering in Punjab and interior Sindh. The situation in Balochistan is also worsening.”
