The government's initiatives to revive the national economy and address the electricity crisis are showing promising results. A nationwide crackdown on electricity theft has led to significant recoveries and arrests.
Authorities have collected over 114 billion and 245 million rupees from power pilferers across the country. More than 84,643 individuals involved in electricity theft have been apprehended as part of this ongoing operation.
In September alone, relevant agencies recovered more than 1 billion and 183 million rupees from electricity thieves in various cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and other areas. During the same month, 123 individuals were arrested for power theft.
The concerned departments remain committed to continuing their efforts until the complete eradication of electricity theft throughout the country. These measures are part of the government's broader strategy to stabilize the economy and alleviate the power crisis affecting citizens.
