Under the ongoing ban on Pakistani visit visas for Afghan citizens, authorities have intensified action against individuals who have entered the country on fraudulent medical and business visas.
Investigating the case of Afghan citizens reaching Pakistan on fake documents and then going abroad, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered a case against three Afghan women, who were apprehended at Karachi airport while attempting to travel to Germany on fake documents.
According to FIA officials, the first detainee, Aziza Mohammadi, had entered Pakistan on a medical visa, claiming she required treatment. The records she provided indicated that she was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Islamabad. However, during the investigation, it was revealed that this was her first visit to Pakistan.
The second individual, Mehria Rahmani, entered Pakistan on a business visa, purportedly traveling with her husband. However, when questioned, Rahmani disclosed that she was unmarried.
The third woman, Zahra Soltani, came to Pakistan on a visa claiming she was a nurse accompanying an Afghan patient. However, the FIA’s investigation revealed that the alleged Afghan patient had never entered Pakistan.
FIA officials arrested the women as they were attempting to board a flight to Germany from Karachi. The authorities have now registered a case against the three Afghan nationals under the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, and further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the fraud.
