Authorities have ramped up security in the federal capital as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for its protest rally at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.
On the other hand, most of the flights at Islamabad airport have been delayed, while airport authorities have instructed passengers to reach the airport early.
In response to the PTI's call for protest, all major highways and roads leading to Islamabad have been closed off with containers. The Red Zone, housing government buildings, has been sealed, with heavy police forces deployed at key points across the city to prevent demonstrators from entering.
