The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) Friday faced another setback as its third vessel, named "Multan," experienced technical difficulties and was damaged while docked at a port in China.
According to sources, the cranes on the PNSC ship ceased to function properly, prompting the need for immediate repairs.
The vessel has been stranded at the Chinese port for six days as engineers and maritime experts work diligently to rectify the issues.
This recent mishap follows similar incidents involving PNSC ships just months ago.
In August and September, two other ships in the PNSC fleet encountered technical problems while at ports in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
As the ship has been docked for 45 days, the corporation is incurring substantial costs related to repairs, maintenance, and demurrage charges.
