Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said on Saturday that the senior-most judge will become the country’s next top judge according to the constitution.
Expressing his thoughts, saying, "The government will issue a notification on October 25 about the date and location of the oath-taking ceremony."
“The matters cannot be sorted out by just merely criticising. The pending cases are not getting lessened. It is in front of everybody that how much criticism happens on the court’s decisions,” he maintained.
He said, “Sometimes it really sounds like the constitution has been written again, which can be reflected in the decision of Article 63-A.”
Underscoring the importance of the parliament, Tarar said: “The right to amendment belongs to the parliament.
In connection with the constitutional amendment, he said: “We are bringing the amendment in line with the constitution.”.
“I will even ask the opposition to come up with their own proposals in line with the amendment. Merely, criticism will not address the problem,” he added.
