Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have seized a large cache of arms and narcotics near the Pakistan-Iran border in operation conducted near Old Marine Post, resulted in the confiscation of a boat carrying concealed weapons and drugs.
During the search, the PCG discovered four sacks and two LPG cylinders, which had been ingeniously used to hide 34 kg of crystal methamphetamine (ice), 42 kg of heroin, and 5.56 mm caliber bullets. The international market value of the seized contraband is estimated at $26.2 million.
A spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards emphasized their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's borders and combating illegal activities.
"The Pakistan Coast Guards are always prepared to serve the public and take swift action against all forms of smuggling, drug trafficking, and other illicit activities. We remain vigilant and proactive in maintaining peace and security along Pakistan's coastal and border regions," the spokesperson added.
The operation underscores the PCG’s dedication to preventing the trafficking of dangerous narcotics and illegal weapons, which pose a significant threat to both national security and public safety.
The confiscated items are expected to be presented as evidence in further investigations, as authorities work to dismantle the networks responsible for the smuggling operations.
