After recent launches of Deepal and BYD models, Hyundai Nishat Motors appears poised to introduce the 7th generation Elantra to the Pakistani market.
Historically, new vehicle generations reach Pakistan 4-5 years after their global debut, and with the Elantra's international introduction in 2020, many expect a local launch shortly.
On August 6, 2024, a 7th-gen Elantra was spotted in Pakistan's Balochistan region, sparking speculation about its potential hybrid variant.
While Hyundai Nishat Motors has not officially commented on the sightings, leaked images suggest the model may indeed be a hybrid.
Adding to the intrigue, Hyundai Nishat Motors shared a teaser on their official Instagram, featuring an image of a steering wheel identified as that of the 7th-gen Elantra. Experts believe this indicates the imminent arrival of the hybrid version.
Internationally, the Elantra is available in 1.6L and 2.0L NA variants, but reports suggest the hybrid version will replace the 1.6L petrol model in Pakistan.
While there’s no official launch date, industry insiders speculate that the Elantra hybrid will debut at the PAPS 2024 event in Lahore from October 25-27, with availability in summer 2025.
