In a welcome development for electricity consumers across Pakistan, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs1.71 per unit in electricity tariffs for a period of three months.
The price cut will apply to electricity bills issued during the months of April, May, and June 2025, bringing much-needed relief to millions of households and businesses grappling with inflation.
According to NEPRA, this decision was made in response to a formal request from the federal government aimed at reducing the gap in electricity tariffs and easing the burden on the public.
The move is expected to provide a total financial relief of Rs58 billion to consumers across the country during the specified period.
