The Sindh government has officially increased the minimum wages for skilled and unskilled workers employed in industries across the province by 15.62%.
The decision was outlined in a notification issued by the Sindh Labour and Manpower Department.
According to the notification, the monthly salary for semi-skilled workers has been raised to Rs38,280. Skilled workers will now receive Rs45,910 per month, while highly skilled workers will earn Rs47,868 monthly.
Earlier last week, the Sindh cabinet had approved an increase in the minimum wage for unskilled labourers across the province. In August, the Sindh government set a new minimum monthly wage of Rs37,000 for workers across the region.
In a separate welfare initiative, the Sindh Police, in collaboration with the National Police Foundation (NPF), announced plans to offer affordable housing plots and interest-free electric motorcycles for police personnel, up to the rank of inspector.
