Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah hoped on Saturday that the appointment of the new chief justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi will be a good omen for the country.
Expressing his thoughts in Islamabad, Hamdullah said: “There are great chances that Justice Afridi will play a substantial role in uplifting the country’s judicial system by delivering justice.”
He stated, “I pray that the Higher Power will give Justice Yahya Afridi success during the testing times and hardships.”
Separately, few days back, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal had expressed support for the appointment of Justice Yahya Afridi as the CJP.
Iqbal said: "The SCP has required the CJP capable of building a cohesive team and fostering unity within the institution."
"Justice Afridi was selected from a panel of three judges by the parliamentary committee, aligning with established practices for appointing Chief Justices in Pakistan," he maintained.
