Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made contact with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leadership, expressing support for Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s decision to remain in the opposition and signaling a willingness for future collaboration.
Sources indicate PTI is eager to adopt a common political strategy with JUI and explore avenues for cooperation.
A meeting between PTI and JUI leaders is anticipated soon, with discussions expected to center on parliamentary coordination.
However, JUI has raised several concerns, questioning PTI’s recent political moves. JUI leaders reportedly expressed frustration over PTI’s shift in strategy following constitutional amendment efforts and its perceived lack of force in opposition.
JUI also questioned PTI’s independent stance during the recent Chief Justice appointment, suggesting that PTI’s support could have strengthened JUI’s position and prevented government influence over the decision.
