The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has altered its protest strategy, with plans once again to hold rallies in major cities in November, according to insider sources.
The decision was made during a recent political committee meeting of the party, which also highlighted new organizational changes and case follow-ups.
The committee approved holding of a rally in Peshawar on November 1 and a second one in Quetta on November 8. To obtain the necessary No-Objection Certificate for the Quetta rally, senior PTI representative Salman Akram Raja will visit Balochistan on November 6.
A third rally in Karachi has been tentatively set for the third week of November.
A key agreement reached during the meeting was that all the future decisions will be approved by the political committee, while a committee meeting will be held especially before planning to meet party founder Imran Khan.
According to the sources, the political committee decided to take up the pending cases of the PTI again, as well as pursue cases regarding its intra-party elections, reserved seats and others. It was also decided to once again raise the request for a reference against the chief election commissioner.
The committee further decided to reinstate proceedings on several internal matters, including intra-party elections, reserved seats, and other previously postponed cases. Additionally, PTI has resolved to pursue a reference request against the chief election commissioner, reinforcing its stance on electoral issues.
According to sources, the political committee also discussed a proposal to reassess the party’s organizational processes, with Salman Akram Raja conveying a message from founder Imran Khan.
