Members of the Pakistan ODI squad for the Australia series arrive in Melbourne.
Pakistan Cricket Board in a statement said that the remaining ODI players will depart for Melbourne today.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, held a meeting with Pakistan’s newly appointed white-ball captain, Muhammad Rizwan, and vice-captain, Salman Ali Agha, as they prepare to lead the team in upcoming ODI and T20I series against Australia and Zimbabwe. During the meeting, Chairman extended his best wishes to the captain and vice-captain, expressing optimism for a strong performance in the forthcoming international engagements.
Naqvi emphasised upon the honour of leading Pakistan’s white-ball side, highlighting the trust placed in Rizwan’s leadership. “Captaining the Pakistan team is an esteemed responsibility,” he noted. “The nation expects to see a commendable performance under your guidance in the upcoming assignments. The players in this squad are talented professionals, and we look forward to seeing them excel.”
In his message to the team, Chairman underscored the importance of unity and resilience. “Playing as a united team and fighting till the last ball guarantees success. If the team performs as one, no opposition can overcome you,” he remarked.
Muhammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha thanked Chairman PCB for his confidence in their leadership, expressing their commitment to delivering high-quality performances during the upcoming tours. Rizwan affirmed, “We are determined to give our best in the upcoming challenges on away tours, striving to meet the expectations of our fans and country.”
